The drivers are happy to race anything with wheels.
The team at Aston Martin Racing are hard at work to score a GTE-class victory at this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, but when the drivers need to take a break, they get to enjoy the British sports car brand’s smallest vehicle since the Cygnet. This one looks like a lot more fun, though. The crew at Q by Aston Martin customized some Razor Crazy Carts, and the racers had a blast sliding the little machines on the famous track.
The brand’s Q branch showed as much dedication to these toys as if they were working on the personalized vehicles for the division's wealthy clientele. These custom Crazy Carts feature Stirling Green bodies with the drivers’ names on the side. To hold riders tight during big slides, there’s also hand-stitched leather and Alcantara on the seats and steering wheel.
The carts can’t lap the track as quickly as the drivers’ Vantage GTEs, but the racers still have a lot of fun riding the toys. “We’re a competitive bunch and as soon as the helmets were on, this race was no different,” driver Darren Turner said. Dubbing the sound of rumbling engines into the clip makes the action look even more exciting.
