The company hints at more power, too.

Vuhl, the boutique sports car maker from Mexico, will debut its more hardcore 05RR at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in late June. The lighter variant of the brand’s current 05 will be on display there in the Michelin Supercar Paddock, and Formula One test driver Jordan King will run the upgraded model up the Goodwood Hillclimb.

Vuhl is keeping specific details about the 05RR under wraps for now, and the company’s teaser images (below) don’t give away any of the secrets. The brand promises an “aggressive mass reduction” and better aerodynamics from track testing of the 05. The company also claims upgrades to “all the car’s systems to make it faster.” Those improvements would suggest more power than the current 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine with 285 horsepower and 310 pound-feet.

Expect to pay a premium over the 05's 59,995 pounds ($85,293) when the hotter version eventually goes on sale. According to Vuhl, “the 05RR will be positioned above the standard VUHL 05 as the choice of the true track and performance enthusiast.” The improvements will keep the new model road legal, so drivers will be able to take it from home to the track and back. Owners will now be able to turn even faster lap times, though.
