Porsche's Supervisory Board has approved the founding of Porsche Digital GmbH.

The new company will be based in Ludwigsburg, Germany and its goal is to "further develop Porsche as the leading provider of digital mobility solutions in the premium automotive segment."

The newly formed company will be lead by managing director Thilo Koslowski who previously worked for Gartner and is considered an expert in automotive, internet, and technology sectors.  Koslowski will oversee work at the company's headquarters in Ludwigsburg as well as affiliated offices in Berlin, Silicon Valley, and China.

Porsche Digital GmbH will be working on technical innovations but will also be looking for partners in areas of connectivity, smart mobility, and autonomous vehicles.  Porsche went on to say the newly formed subsidiary will "promote long-term partnerships with suitable partners and in this way create a digital ecosystem."  As part of this initiative, Porsche Digital GmbH. will provide funds to start-ups which offer opportunities for close collaboration.

In a statement, Supervisory Board chairman Dr. Wolfgang Porsche said “Porsche Digital GmbH will strengthen the brand, develop innovative customer experiences, and attract new partners." He added "We are combining the traditional Porsche spirit with the power of new technologies.”
