Goes on sale next month.

The 2016 Suzuki Baleno will be priced from £12,999 when it goes on sale in the United Kingdom on June 1st.

Designed to slot above the Swift, the Baleno comes nicely equipped with HID headlights, Bluetooth connectivity, and an infotainment system with a seven-inch display.  The model also features cruise control, rear privacy glass, and GPS navigation.

Moving up to the Baleno SZ5 rewards buyers with additional standard equipment including an automatic climate control system, power rear windows, and LED taillights.  The model also boasts an adaptive cruise control system and a 4.2-inch color display in the instrument cluster.

Under the hood, two different engines will be available.  The base engine is a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder that produces 111 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque.   It can be paired to either a five-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.  With the latter gearbox, the car accelerates from 0-62 miles per hour in 11 seconds flat.

Buyers concerned about fuel-economy will want to check out the Baleno SZ5 with the 1.2-liter four-cylinder SHVS engine.  The model starts at £13,499 and features a mild hybrid system that consists of an integrated starter generator and a compact lithium-ion battery.  The system enables the car to return 70.6 miles per gallon on the EC combined cycle and have CO2 emissions of 94 grams per kilometer.
