Following last week’s sneak preview, Renault is revealing its brand new Koleos D-segment SUV in full on the occasion of the Beijing Auto Show.

Set to act as the company’s flagship model in China, the second-generation Koleos uses the same bold styling language implemented in the new Megane and Talisman. It won’t be a China-only model as the company with the diamond logo has plans to sell the midsize SUV in no less than 80 markets. It’s bigger than the Kadjar and at the same time substantially larger than the outgoing Koleos which was never a top performer in terms of sales.

Renault hopes it will have more success with the all-new model which promises to offer class-leading interior space with 289-mm rear knee room. The new Koleos has a driving position 150-mm higher compared to a regular sedan and comes with lots of niceties, including a heated steering wheel, R-LINK 2 infotainment system, and a BOSE audio system.

Essentially Renault’s version of the Nissan X-Trail, the revamped Koleos will be offered with a 4x4 layout featuring 2WD, 4WD AUTO, and 4WD LOCK modes. It’s going to come packed with safety and assistance systems, including active emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot warning, along with front/rear/side parking sensors and a rearview camera.

The second-generation Koleos is going to be assembled in Wuhan for China and in Busan, South Korea for the other 79 markets.
