Infiniti has released technical specifications for the QX Sport Inspiration concept which debuts today at the Beijing Auto Show in China.

There were some debates regarding whether it previews the next-gen Infiniti QX50 or QX70, but now that we know it is 181.1 inches (4.6 meters) long, we can strongly affirm the concept will eventually become the all-new QX50. Even though the production version won’t be as exciting as the concept from a design point of view, it’s safe to say it will be substantially more appealing than the outgoing QX50 which isn’t exactly a looker.

These flowing sculptural lines applied on a muscular body have already been seen on the stunning Q80 Inspiration concept from 2014 and the more recent 2017 Q60. This latest concept from Nissan’s premium marque is 74.8 inches (1.9 meters) wide if we exclude the side cameras and sits 64.9 inches (1.65 meters) tall. Being an SUV, Infiniti gave it a generous ground clearance of 9.1 inches (230 mm) while the interior cabin should be quite spacious given the respectable wheelbase of 110.2 inches (2.8 meters).

Details about what powers the concept have not been released, but it could have the new biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which in the highest state of tune delivers 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts) and 350 pound-feet (475 newton meters). That engine is teamed up to a seven-speed automatic transmission and in the Q60 Coupe output is channeled to the rear wheels or to an optional rear-biased all-wheel-drive system. We assume the QX Sport Inspiration concept has AWD as it would be appropriate for any respectable SUV.

With current model dating back to 2007 when it came out as the EX (renamed QX50 starting 2014MY), an all-new model can’t come soon enough and hopefully it will remain faithful to this very promising concept.
