The facility features grandstands with seating for 800, staging lanes, control tower, and more.
If money's burning a hole in your pocket, Hennessey Performance has the right offer for you - a 55-acre drag strip.
The American tuning house is searching for a new owner of its Lonestar Motorsports park drag strip that is located next to the performance development facility of the company in Sealy, Texas. Hennessey says for $2.7 million you’ll get only the race track without the development center and workshop.
“This is purely a smart real-estate move,” John Hennessey, founder of Hennessey, explains to Automobile. “If it sells for what we ask, great. If no one buys it, we might end up just keeping it.”
The facility features an IHRA sanctioned quarter-mile drag strip with air conditioned concessions stands, grandstands with seating for 800, staging lanes, control tower, lights, timing equipment, fuel barn, and more. An additional 70 acres is also available at an additional cost, the ad says.
Currently, Hennessey is still using the track to test its vehicles and says it’s fully operational with events every month.
Automobile is reporting that Hennessey is planning to expand its annual vehicle production from the current 400 units to more than 1,000. A potential sale of the drag strip is part of the this plan.
