Mercedes-Benz has shared another teaser image for the upcoming debut of the GLC Coupe, scheduled for the 2016 New York Auto Show.
The coupe-SUV segment is becoming ever more competitive and Mercedes wants to steal a piece of the pie with the BMW X4-fighting GLC Coupe that is based on the latest GLC, as the name suggests. What we’ve got here is a digital sketch released through the company’s official page in Facebook.
While the manufacturer is still keeping the technical details secret, it says the GLC Coupe is “the sports car among the SUVs,” probably referring to the wide range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. At launch, the hottest model will likely be equipped with a 2.0 turbo unit with 241 horsepower (177 kilowatts) that will be joined by the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe with a 3.0 turbo at a later time. A flagship Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe with the familiar 4.0 biturbo is also in the cards for a 2017 launch.
The GLC Coupe won’t be the most practical model among all Mercedes vehicles as it will offer less than 19.4 cubic feet (550 liters) of boot volume. Still, once you fold down the rear seats you’ll get nearly 56.5 cu. ft. (1,600 liters).
