Rumors about a four-door Bugatti model have been swirling around for years and now they are back again.

This new speculation is fueled by the Geneva Motor Show, where Wolfgang Duerheimer, Bugatti boss, gave an interview to Bloomberg Business, saying the four-door exclusive limousine is “as a possible next project.”

“I can’t get the idea for a four-door limousine out of my head,” he commented. “It’s one of the options we might look into again as a possible next project.”

More than five years ago, the French company revealed the Galibier concept that previewed a possible design direction for the production four-door sedan. Currently, the Chiron’s 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers seems like the natural choice for the model, if it ever gets the green light.

Duerheimer also revealed Bugatti is open to adding an electric model to its range. While this sounds like a project for the distant future, “that doesn’t mean we abandon this topic forever,” he declared.

When asked whether Bugatti would join Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini in offering a high-end SUV mode, Duerheimer simply said “no.”
