Following an announcement made last week, Volvo has revealed the 2017 V40 facelift which will be exhibited in Geneva next month.

The new model year brings a subtle nip and tuck for Volvo’s best-selling model in Europe and second-most popular model across the world. The biggest change is noticeable at the front where the V40 and V40 Cross Country have gained the Thor’s Hammer LED headlights as seen in the XC90, S90, and V90. Volvo mentions that in the UK the V40 facelift is going to be sold as standard with LED headlights.

The facelift also brings new front grille meshes with the updated Volvo Iron Mark logo, along with five fresh body paints: Amazon Blue, Denim Blue, Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue, and Luminous Sand.

Stepping inside, the 2017 Volvo V40 gains a new City Weave upholstery in the same vein as the one fitted in the Concept Estate. There’s also a new charcoal/blond steering wheel option, panel trims (Milled Aluminium, Black Grid Aluminium, Stealth Aluminium), and new tread plates for R-Design and Inscription models. Moreover, accent trim colors in the door inserts will be paired with contrasting stitching.

For the first time on the V40, a black headliner will be optionally offered at an additional cost. An updated key fob featuring Volvo’s revised logo has also been added. The 2017MY brings an upgraded Volvo On Call smartphone app granting access to a wide array of in-car features and giving drivers the possibility to program a single physical “smart key” to perform several tasks.

In addition, the 2017 Volvo V40 benefits from CleanZone technology which filters the air before it enters the cabin to remove harmful pollutants.

Lastly, the turbodiesel four-cylinder 2.0-liter D2 engine fitted with the manual gearbox has been revised and is now less pollutant as emissions have dropped to just 89 g/km.

The facelifted V40 will receive its first public outing on March 1 at the Geneva Motor Show where Volvo will also bring the V90.
