Fiat is putting the finishing touches on the third Tipo model that will join the already released sedan and the upcoming five-door hatchback. The most practical version of the three was spotted out and about in Italy using more camouflage on the rear end to better hide the roomier trunk which should carry at least 19.4 cubic feet (550 liters). We are making this estimation based on the sedan’s cargo capacity of 18.3 cu. ft. (520 liters) with the rear seats in place.

The Stilo Multiwagon replacement has been a long time coming and judging by the sedan’s design it should be quite a looker and a nice alternative to other affordable compact wagons. Don’t expect to find very powerful engines as Fiat wants to keep it simple and cheap by selling the Tipo wagon with naturally-aspirated 1.4- and 1.6-liter gasoline units. There will also be a turbodiesel pair of 1.3- and 1.6-liter MultiJet II engine and depending on selection these will work with five- and six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic.

The Tipo hatchback is the next in line to be revealed, so the wagon will probably be introduced in the second half of the year. These two will be assembled at the same factory in Bursa, Turkey where the sedan is being put together since the end of last year.
