Looking as if it came straight from a Transformers movie, the Elibriea has made its debut this week at the Qatar Motor Show.

The two-seater coupe concept represents the work of 27-year-old Abdul Wahab Ziaullah, a former engineering student at Texas A&M at Qatar (TAMUQ). It’s certainly a case of love/hate as it’s impossible to remain indifferent to the exaggerated styling of the body which apparently is made from carbon fiber. Hiding underneath the Lamborghini-inspired skin is a carbon fiber monocoque, so it should be very light and fun given the mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout.

Since we mentioned the engine, it has a naturally-aspirated unit sourced from General Motors and tuned to deliver 800 horsepower channeled to the road via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Details about performances have not been disclosed, but it should be proper fast given the low weight, high power combo.

We checked the official website and it says Elibriea Automotive will actually start taking pre-orders from March and will begin deliveries in December. However, we’ll have to wait and see about that as there’s no mention of a factory, price, full technical specs, and everything else you would expect from a production car. If history has taught us anything, many of these concepts never make the transition from car shows to the assembly line.
