Alpha-N Performance has taken the wraps off a comprehensive power boost package for the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.

The M2 is all the rage these days, but there still are tuners out there showing love for its predecessor, the 1 Series M Coupe. Alpha-N Performance managed to squeeze no less than 564 horsepower from the turbocharged straight-six engine which normally puts out 340 hp. The tuner also bumped torque considerably from 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) to a whopping 542 lb-ft (734 Nm).

Achieving these astonishing power figures takes more than the usual software wizardry and in this case the tuner mounted a beefier turbocharger. There’s also a custom intercooler, a bespoke exhaust system, along with upgraded spark plugs, fuel pump, and ignition coil. Alpha-N Performance also installed a Snow Stage 3 water-methanol injection system and remapped the engine’s ECU.

To cope with the added power, the car received a competition grade clutch linked to a new single-mass flywheel made from high-grade steel. Öhlins was in charge of providing the fully adjustable coilover suspension, while the exterior gained BMW Performance front splitter and rear spoiler lip.

Stepping inside the cabin, this heavily modified 1 Series M Coupe has received a pair of body-hugging seats and a sports steering wheel incorporating an LED upshift indicator and a central screen like on a racecar.
