The conceptual Warrior version of Nissan’s Titan XD is certainly a sight to behold these days at the Detroit Auto Show and now we have live pics to prove it.

If Nissan will eventually decide to come out with a direct competitor for the Ford F-150 Raptor, we just hope it will have a lot in common with the Warrior concept. Created for the manliest men, this is basically a hardcore iteration of the Titan XD and appears to be indestructible. Besides the stronger visual impact, the concept also has a custom suspension to better tackle difficult terrains and comes with a large skid plate for added protection.

While the Raptor has a gasoline engine, Nissan installed the torque-tastic turbodiesel 5.0-liter V8 Cummins motor with 555 pound-feet and 310 horsepower on tap. It’s channeled to the road with help from a heavy-duty six-speed gearbox.

Given the very positive feedback it received after debuting in Detroit, maybe Nissan is now analyzing the prospects of actually coming out with a production version. It would have to be toned down for sure, but nevertheless such a rugged Titan XD would be an appealing alternative to the Raptor. Speaking of which, the latter is also in Detroit in SuperCrew guise, basically a crew cab derivative of the standard F-150 Raptor.
