Hyundai South Korea has dropped a series of new teasers for the IONIQ set to be unveiled later this month.

At the end of December we got an early look at Hyundai’s Prius fighter courtesy of a few images taken while the car was conducting a photo shoot. Hyundai has apparently decided to ignore that the cat is pretty much out of the bag as new teasers are out to preview the car.

It will be a three-in-one model taking into account Hyundai has plans to sell the IONIQ as a plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and also with a pure electric powertrain. A four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine will power the hybrids, whereas the EV will be motivated by an electric motor working closely with a lithium-ion battery.

These new sketches make it look more exciting than it really is, but we’ve come to expect this from automakers. Through these fresh illustrations we get a better idea of the interior and it seems Hyundai has decided to keep it simple yet functional. It has a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster, while that gear knob indicates it’s an automatic.

Hyundai will reveal the IONIQ later this month in South Korean specification (KDM), before bringing the Euro-spec model to Geneva Motor Show set for early March. Hyundai has plans to sell this in North America as well which is why the model is bound to make an appearance at the New York Auto Show scheduled to begin on March 25.
