To celebrate the P1’s end of production, McLaren is introducing a series of scale models just in time for Christmas.

McLaren has something for everyone as the scale models range from 1:64 to 1:8. The smallest of the bunch is only 2.95 inches (75mm) long and comes from Mattel-HotWheels in either Supernova Silver or Volcano Orange. It was created for the “very young, even if their only income is from pocket money.”

If you are DIY kind of guy, LEGO has a special treat for you: a Volcano Yellow P1 from the Speed Champions series. It’s a buildable brick-made supercar allowing the owner to attach the wheels and even use a wrench to “work” on the car.

There’s also a P1 slot car from Scalextric part of the Pro Chassis Ready lineup and you can have it in either Volcano Yellow or Volcano Orange. Maisto also has a radio-controlled 1:14 car with functional headlights and taillights.

Resin or diecast models by True Scale Models (TSM), Minichamps, Tecnomodel, and AutoArt come in 1:43 scale centerpieces. You can go for the first production car (Job#1), the Nurburgring Edition XP2R prototype, the camouflaged P1 prototype, and the one Jenson Button drove at Goodwood FoS. In addition, next year you’ll be able to get the Amethyst Black PP3 pre-production model. All these scale models come with engine, suspension, door handles, seat belts, and wheels + tires.

We’ve saved the best for last as Amalgam Fine Model Cars is offering a 1:8 scale replica of the P1. This one is 23.4 inches (595 mm) long and is only made to order, with each being meticulously hand-crafted to the exact intricate details of the real deal.

Depending on model, prices vary from less than $15 (£10) to more than $12,130 (£8,000).
