Rinspeed has unveiled the Ʃtos concept ahead of its debut at the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Based on the BMW i8, the Ʃtos features a unique exterior with custom body panels, new fascias, and a glass roof.  The concept also has 20-inch Borbet GTX aluminum wheels and a bespoke drone landing platform that consists of 12,000 individually controlled LEDs which can be used as an electronic message board.

Speaking of the drone, it's a DJI quadcopter that can be dispatched to pick up deliveries or sent above the car to livestream your trip to friends and family.

The unique styling continues in the cabin as Rinspeed gutted the i8's interior and replaced it will a unique dashboard, two curved 21.5-inch Ultra HD widescreen monitors, and a folding / retracting steering wheel that disappears into the dash when the car is in autonomous driving mode.  The concept also features titanium pedals, ceramic accents, and unique seats that are embroidered with the skyline of San Francisco.  Other unique touches include a mechanical Patravi Traveltec clock from Carl F. Bucherer and a high-tech Harman infotainment system which gets to know the driver and their schedule so it can anticipate his or her needs.

In the tech department, the concept has eight high-definition exterior cameras that monitor the vehicle's surroundings.  People and objects are automatically detected and tracked so the driver can be warned about potential hazards.

The car also has a gaze-tracking system that permanently monitors the driver’s eye movements.  The system can determine what the driver has seen and what they haven't seen, so warnings and notifications can be tailored accordingly.
