A drunk driver caught red-handed by a police officer came out with an ingenious and equally illegal solution to avoid getting into legal problems.

It happened a few days ago in Romania when a police officer stopped the driver of a vehicle only to discover he wasn’t exactly sober. Faced with serious legal problems, the driver (with the help of the passenger) decided that it would be appropriate to try and bribe the man in uniform with a BMW X6. The police officer wasn’t impressed at all with the “generous offer” and ultimately decided to arrest the two men.

Now, both of them are facing bribery chargers and will likely (and hopefully) do some serious jail time. Prior to this incident, another police officer caught the same man in traffic without a valid driver’s license and unsurprisingly he was also intoxicated at that moment.

Bribing police officers in Romania to get away with something isn’t exactly a novelty, but this incident caught our attention once we found out the driver was willing to “offer” such a generous deal. Initially, both the driver and passenger will end up doing 30 days in preventive detention before the judges will decide the final sentence.
