TOM’s Racing is previewing its first stab at tuning the newest Toyota Prius to give it a sportier appearance.

The Prius has always been about efficiency and it will stay that way forever. It’s not exactly the prettiest car out there, but at least the new one has a substantially more appealing design. We already know Toyota Racing Development is working on a few exterior body attachments and Wald International is doing the same thing. Now, TOM’s Racing has released a sneak preview of its take on the 2016 Prius.

It’s hard to understand why the Prius would be in need of a sporty body kit, but those who are into that sort of thing should know this package comes with custom bumpers and a front spoiler attachment. There’s also a rear diffuser, a pair of beefier side skirts, and even a quad exhaust setup. You can also go for the lowered sports suspension that can be matched with a set of larger alloy wheels.

TOM’s Racing isn’t saying a word about whether there are any upgrades to the hybrid setup which in the standard 2016 Prius stands at 121 hp (90 kW). Most likely this is just a visual package tailored to those on the look for a sportier Prius without the extra go to match the appearance.
