Opel has announced a series of updates to the 2016 Adam.

Starting with the exterior, there are several new colors including Orange Alert and Brownian Rhapsody.

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the model can be equipped with a new IntelliLink R4.0 infotainment system that features a seven-inch display and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility.  The system only costs $379 (€350) and will likely prove popular with consumers.

Speaking of technology, the Adam can be equipped with Opel OnStar which provides automatic crash response, 24 hour roadside assistance, and remote vehicle diagnostics.  Customers can also use a smartphone app to access vehicle data and remotely lock/unlock the vehicle's doors.  Opel OnStar is standard on the Adam Slam and Adam Glam variants but it costs $531 (€490) on other models.

Another benefit of ordering Opel OnStar is the addition of a 4G/LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot that enables up to seven mobile devices to be connected at the same time.  As an added bonus, customers will receive one year of free service.

Last but not least, the Adam can be equipped with a wireless charging dock and a TomTom Go 40 navigation system.  The latter system is available from dealerships and it features a 4.3-inch display, maps of 45 European countries, and real-time traffic information.
