We’ve all seen Fiat’s new budget sedan that brings back the “Tipo” moniker and overall it’s shaping up to be an appealing choice in the segment. Now, OmniAuto has decided to dress the car in military police apparel to make it suitable for Italy’s Carabinieri. Moreover, the sedan has also been envisioned in a Polizia guise to serve duties for the local civilian police.

It’s not known at this point whether the Italian authorities will use the Tipo, but if they do, the engine of choice will likely be the MultiJet II 1.6-liter turbodiesel rated at 120 PS (88 kW). In Italy, the Tipo equipped with this engine kicks off at €18,700, but for police duties it would cost a lot more given the necessary auxiliary equipment.

Joining the Tipo sedan will be a five-door hatchback programmed to arrive early next year and followed a few months later by a more practical wagon.

The Tipo’s affordable price tag makes it a viable solution for a police car in Italy. That being said, we wouldn't mind seeing the Alfa Romeo Giulia in police uniform, especially if it's the Quadrifoglio version.
