Aston Martin has dropped another video with the Vulcan, a model billed as being the firm’s “most intense and exhilarating creation to date.”

With a design that you either love or hate, the Vulcan represents Aston’s answer to other track-only beasts such as the McLaren P1 GTR and the Ferrari FXX K. Those two rely on a hybrid arrangement to give an extra boost, but the engineers from Gaydon have kept the Vulcan naturally aspirated. That doesn’t mean it lacks the power to match its status as the V12 7.0-liter engine churns more than 800 bhp (596 kW) and sounds utterly raw.

While there’s no word about the car’s weight, Aston Martin says the track weapon has a power-to-weight ratio that exceeds GTE race cars from FIA’s WEC. To keep the weight down, the Vulcan uses a carbon fiber monocoque and propeller shaft, along with a magnesium torque tube and carbon ceramic Brembo racing discs.

Even if you have the $2.3 million to buy one, you’re out of luck as Aston Martin has already sold all 24 units planned for production. These fortunate owners will also take part in an extensive track training program and will be able to drive other models such as the V12 Vantage S, Vantage GT4 racecar, and the very special One-77.
