MINI is stretching the definition of special by introducing the new Countryman Special Edition in the United Kingdom.

Dressed in Absolute Black Metallic paint, the special edition has exclusive Space Grey Metallic paint on the roof and mirror caps.  The compact crossover also has xenon headlights and 18-inch 5-Star Double Spoke alloy wheels with a black finish.

Moving on to the interior, buyers will find Gravity-Carbon Black leather seats and Piano Black trim.  The special edition also comes equipped with an automatic climate control system, heated front seats, and a multi-function steering wheel.  Other niceties include a MINI Connected infotainment system with voice control, Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS navigation.

The Countryman Special Edition will be offered with two different engines including a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 190 bhp (141 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque as well as a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel that cranks out 143 bhp (106 kW) and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) of torque.  The engines can be connected to either a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.  Regardless of which gearbox is selected, all Countryman Special Editions will come standard with an all-wheel drive system.

Production will be limited to 250 units and the company is currently accepting orders.
