Kia UK has disclosed pricing details for the all-new Optima mid-size sedan available on sale starting today.

Now in its fourth generation, the Optima is more upscale than ever and can be yours in the United Kingdom from £21,495. It’s available exclusively with a 1.7-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine teamed up to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT (from £24,895). The motor delivers 141 PS (104 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque and comes as standard with Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology to cut fuel consumption and emissions. If you go for the manual, the Optima will return 67.3 mpg UK, which makes it slightly more economical than the DCT-equipped model that does 64.2 mpg UK.

Kia UK is selling the new Optima in "2", "3", and "4" trim levels right now, but the GT Line and GT versions will join the lineup in 2016. The base model is manual-only and comes with a lot of standard kit, such as a 7-inch sat-nav infotainment system, reversing camera, dual automatic air conditioning, and cruise control (with speed limiter). The list of standard equipment also includes electrically-folding mirrors, 6-speaker sound system, 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, remote central locking, and powered two-way driver's seat lumbar adjustment.

Upgrade to the Optima 3 (from £23,495) and Kia will reward you with an 8-inch screen, LED fog lights, xenon headlights, 18-inch rims, LED taillights, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with four-way electronic lumbar adjustment. This one also has heated front seats, Harman Kardon sound system, premium instrument cluster, black cloth seats with faux leather sections, and satin chrome accents.

The Optima 4 (from £28,895) is DCT-only and adds more technology, like a wireless charger, Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and High Beam Assist Smart Park Assist. Kia will also throw in a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats plus heated outer rear seats.

The GT Line due next year will bring sportier styling inside and out, whereas the fully-fledged GT will have a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 245 PS (180 kW) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft). An Optima Sportswagon is also in the works for Europe and is due in the second half of 2016.
