Koenigsegg has announced it will start the production of the first fully homologated and road-legal Agera RS for the US market.

In a post at its official website, Koenigsegg says the owner of this car has allowed the company to document the assembly process from start to finish. The automaker admits the USA has not been a successful market so far, but explains the process is going to be “an epic build story taking place over six months or so”.

Revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Agera RS will be limited to only 25 units with 10 already pre-sold. Four examples are already completed and another six cars are on the production line with more units waiting to start. The combination of Agera RS and Regera orders is currently keeping the brand’s factory in Angelholm, Sweden booked for the next two years.

As a reminder, the 1,395-kg Agera RS has a 5.0-liter V8 engine, pushing out 1,160 bhp (866 kW) when running on regular fuel. On certain markets the Agera RS can also be upgraded to run on E85 with flex fuel capabilities, for even higher power levels.

In terms of design, the supercar features track optimized front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, advanced dynamic underbody flap system, and a dynamically active rear spoiler.
