This mid-range version also has an interior air ionization filter and the Active Curve System which takes advantage of the active suspension stabilizers to improve stability and comfort, especially while cornering.

In terms of power, the GLS 350d has a V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 258 PS (190 kW) and 620 Nm (458 lb-ft) sent to both axles through a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission whereas the GLS 63 AMG has a beefier V8 bi-turbo 5.5-liter gasoline unit with 585 PS (430 kW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque delivered to the road via a 7G-TRONIC gearbox.
