The wait is almost over as Mercedes-Benz has dropped a teaser of the SL facelift ahead of the roadster’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

From what we can see so far, Mercedes-Benz has decided to bring the SL more in-line with the AMG GT and this teaser shows the big roadster is about to get an upside down diamond grille, a new pair of LED headlights and a remodeled front bumper which all contribute to make the SL appear more fresh. We don’t get to check out the rear end in this teaser, but previous spy shots have shown the changes will be less significant compared to the front as it will only get all-red taillight graphics and some subtle tweaks to the bumper.

There must be something going on inside the cabin where Mercedes-Benz has probably made some revisions to the upholstery and trim options while the infotainment system has likely been updated to the latest version. Some new or improved safety and assistance systems are on the menu as well, along with a more extended catalog of optional goodies.

Details concerning any possible changes to the engine lineup are not available at this point, but most of the units will likely be carried over. The SL63 with its V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine was spied a few months ago and chances are it will be revealed together with its lesser siblings.

Mercedes-Benz will stage the world premiere of the SL facelift on November 17 during the first press day of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
