Chevrolet has unveiled the new Colorado Z71 Trail Boss 3.0 concept at SEMA.

Based on the Colorado Crew Cab, the concept has a Red Hot exterior with rally stripes, black fender flares and additional body-color components including the door handles and mirror caps.  The model also has an off-road suspension, rocker bars and five-spoke alloy wheels with meaty off-road tires.  Other highlights include a roll bar, LED auxiliary lights and an illuminated bowtie emblem on the grille.

The unique styling continues in the cabin as designers added stainless steel door sill plates, brushed metal trim and an ambient lighting system.  The carpeting has also been removed and replaced by rubberized floor liners that can withstand muddy boots from your off-road adventure.

Chevrolet declined to say what powers the concept but they confirmed the engine has been equipped with a performance air intake and a sports exhaust system.

In a statement, Chevrolet Truck Marketing director Sandor Piszar said “At its core, the Trail Boss offers owners the gear-carrying ability and versatility they need to venture off-road, with segment-leading efficiency and capability. The Trail Boss 3.0 concept builds on that to show the choices from Chevrolet to help customers personalize their truck.”
