Jeep Head of Design, Mark Allen, has revealed some new details about the company's long-rumored pickup.

Speaking to CarAdvice, Allen confirmed the truck hasn't been green-lighted but there's "been planning on it."  He went on to say it's something that the company wants but it might not be based on the Wrangler. As he hinted "Is it a pick-up truck or is it a Wrangler variant?"

While that doesn't necessarily mean the truck won't be based on the Wrangler, it seems possible as the company's Toledo plant is running at maximum capacity so there isn't room to add another Wrangler variant.
