Acura recently commenced trial production for the much-awaited (and belated) NSX which they say is still in the final development stages. Concomitantly, they are testing out prototypes on the 'Ring to put the finishing touches on their hybrid supercar which will finally enter series production next spring and will cost just about the same as a US-spec standard Audi R8 (from $115,900).

Although the model was unveiled back in January at NAIAS in Detroit, we still don't have full technical specifications and also Acura is keeping a secret info concerning the car's performances. At least we know it has a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 teamed up with three electric motors to provide a combined output of more than 550 bhp (410 kW).

Hopefully they will release full details about the car before the end of this year, possibly at the Los Angeles Auto Show set for the second half of November.
