Ford has released the first installment of their Focus RS documentary called “Rebirth of an icon.”

The first episode is dubbed Project Kick-Off and it features Ken Block and Ford Group Vice President of Global Product Development Raj Nair taking a spin in an early prototype of the model.   While the driving footage isn't terribly exciting, Nair explains "We want the car to reward expert drivers ... but we also want it to flatter the novice."

Besides showing the test drive, the clip provides a brief overview of previous RS models and explains why all-wheel drive was considered a necessity.

As a refresher, the Focus RS features a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 350 PS (257 kW) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the all-wheel drive model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds
