Elon Musk, CEO and founder of Tesla Motors, has given his opinion on the current diesel scandal.
Speaking to TopGear.com in Belgium, Musk commented that “what the Volkswagen […] is really showing is that we’ve reached the limit of what’s possible with diesel and gasoline.” He also added that “the time has come to move to a new generation of technology,” most likely referring to the EVs.
Asked whether the Volkswagen dieselgate would cause consumers to lose their faith in green and eco technologies, Musk added – “I think it’s the opposite.”
Yesterday it was announced Tesla Motors has opened its first European plant in the city of Tilburg, the Netherlands. During the weekend it emerged that a group of Tesla owners questioned whether the power figure of the Model S P85D is accurate.
