Chevrolet has announced a series of updates to the 2016 Silverado HD.

First and foremost, certain double cab and crew cab models can be equipped with a new Digital Steering Assist system.  Chevrolet says the system improves handling, responsiveness and stability regardless of whether the truck is loaded or unloaded.

The 2016 Silverado HD can also be equipped with a new Gooseneck/5th Wheel Trailering Prep Package which includes a frame-mounted hitch platform, a tray that accommodates a gooseneck ball hitch or fifth wheel hitch and a cargo bed-mounted trailer harness.

Interior changes are limited but include upgraded 7- and 8-inch MyLink infotainment systems with faster processors and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto capability.  The truck also gains several new options including a wireless smartphone charger and a remote locking tailgate

Last but not least, there are three new exterior colors including Siren Red Tintcoat, Red Hot and Butte Red Metallic.
