Chevrolet has released new details about the 2016  Silverado ahead of its debut at the Texas State Fair later today.

Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted pickup has a new front fascia and revised grille that is flanked by restyled headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights.  The truck also has a sculpted hood, a remote locking tailgate and power running boards on the High Country variant.

Chevrolet didn't to say about the interior but they confirmed the model will be offered with a wireless smartphone charger and an updated MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Engine options carryover and include:

  • A 4.3-liter V6 with 285 bhp (212 kW) and 305 lb-ft (413 Nm) of torque
  • A 5.3-liter V8 with 355 bhp (264 kW) and 383 lb-ft (518 Nm) of torque
  • A 6.2-liter V8 with 420 bhp (313 kW) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque

Despite the déjà vu under the hood, Chevrolet announced higher-end variants with the 5.3-liter V8 engine will now be equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
