Honda has disclosed plans to launch the European version of the next generation Civic at the beginning of 2017.

It was less than a week ago when the American Honda Motor Company took the wraps off the tenth generation US-spec Civic Sedan and now the European division has announced the five-door hatchback will arrive on the old continent early 2017.

While the sedan has been developed in United States where it will be built, the hatch is being engineered in UK and will be manufactured at the company's factory in Swindon where Honda has already invested €270 million in new production technologies and processes, thus bringing the grand total to €3 billion since 1985.

Aside from talking about the new European Civic, Honda has also announced the second generation NSX will finally enter mass production next year and will be offered in Europe as a Honda whereas the US-spec model will use the Acura badge.
