Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa has revealed there is "probably a V6 in our future.”

Speaking to Top Gear, Felisa hinted the engine would likely debut in an all-new model since “You wouldn’t do a bigger one with a V6."  He stopped short of confirming a modern day Dino but mysterious prototypes has been spotted undergoing testing near the company's headquarters.

However, a Ferrari engineer told the publication there are still some challenges as the company wants the engine to produce approximately 200 bhp (149 kW) per liter but this puts a "huge stress" on the engine's components.  The engineer went on to say the engine isn't ready yet but it is based on the 3.9-liter V8 from the 488 GTB and could produce approximately 580 bhp (432 kW).
