Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the facelifted 2016 SS.

Looking more aggressive than its predecessor, the facelifted model features a new front fascia with additional chrome trim and vertical ducts that "direct airflow over the front wheel openings to improve aerodynamic efficiency."  The model also features a ventilated hood, new LED daytime running lights and restyled 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels.  Last but not least, there's a new dual-mode exhaust system which is quieter at low engine speeds and louder at full throttle.

Power will be provided by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 415 bhp (310 kW) and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm) of torque.  It can be connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

In a statement, Chevrolet Performance Car marketing manager Todd Christensen said “The 2016 SS design changes more fully express the true driving character of the sedan while further enhancing the car’s overall performance."
