BMW has introduced the new 330e at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Designed to appeal to eco-conscious buyers, the plug-in hybrid features a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, an electric motor and a 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.  The engine produces 184 PS (135 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque, while the electric motor develops 88 SP (65 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.  This gives the sedan a combined output of 252 PS (185 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque.

In terms of performance, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, hit a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph) and return 1.9-2.1 L/100 km with CO2 emissions of 44-49 g/km.  More importantly, the model can travel up to 40 km (25 miles) on electricity alone at speeds up to 120 km/h (75 mph).
