SsangYong has introduced the XAV-Adventure concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, opening its doors for visitors tomorrow.
The South Korean manufacturer admits the study offers a glimpse into the future and illustrates how a new generation Korando could look like. It comes with a boxy design, relatively compact dimensions (4.19m/1.88m/1.65m) and “strong, robust and with a capacious” appearance.
No interior photos are currently available, but the company explains the cabin features a minimalistic layout with high practicality. For example, a storage compartment in the rear door enables the loading extra-long items.
The XAV-Adventures is displayed in two versions. Both they have a hybrid powertrain, but one has a petrol unit and the other one relies on a diesel unit to power. They are supported by two electric motors on the rear axle and one on the front, also serving as a generator.
The car also features the so-called SsangYong 3S-CUBE system, which includes a special sensing device, which together with a smart motion control system, electric air suspension and “stereo vision”, automatically adjusts the suspension according to the road condition.
