BMW has finally taken the wraps off the racing M6 GT3 at the Frankfurt Motor Show that opened its doors for the press today.

 

Essentially a racing version of the BMW M6 Coupe, the vehicle will be sent into action by numerous private teams from the 2016 season. The Bavarian company says the car boasts a series of improvements, mainly focused in the areas of drivability and economy.

 

One example is the use of a series-produced petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, while, with its centrally-positioned driver’s seat and long wheelbase, the BMW M6 GT3 offers a driving feeling unparalleled on the racing scene.” The racing beast weighs less than 1,300 kg and has a transaxle drive configuration and sequential six-speed racing gearbox.

 

The BMW M6 GT3 has undergone an extensive test program on a variety of circuits. BMW also says in May 2015, ahead of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring circuit, BMW Motorsport customers from around the world were shown the BMW M6 GT3 for the first time.

 

 

The net price of the car is 379,000 EUR.
