Nissan has released new teaser image and the first teaser video for the Gripz concept that will make its world premiere during the 2015 IAA next week.

Last month we heard a rumor the Japanese company could replace the current Z sports car with a crossover and it seems this will turn to be true, as the producer explains the new Gripz concept is inspired by the “legendary 240Z desert racers”.

No further information is currently available, but the study appears to be featuring a sharp design with boomerang-shaped LED headlights.

Nissan also says “the design explores a new sporty direction for a Crossover concept and was conceived to create an innovative new driving sensation.” It’s still not confirmed, but the concept could take the shape of a two-door coupe-SUV.
