SEAT has announced plans to investment 3.3 billion euros on equipment, facilities and research and development between 2015 and 2019.

SEAT has announced plans to investment 3.3 billion euros on equipment, facilities and research and development between 2015 and 2019.

Billed as the largest investment in SEAT's history, the funds will be used to launch four new models in the next two years.  The automaker declined to go into specifics but confirmed the first new model will be a compact crossover which will arrive at dealerships in the first half of 2016.

In a statement, SEAT Executive Committee President Jürgen Stackmann said “These models are part of an ambitious plan to continue to strengthen the brand and boost sales, which have been growing consistently since 2013. The spending on innovation ensures competitiveness and employment, and secures the future."
