Nissan has released the eighth installment of their Titan Truckumentary.

Dubbed "The sounds of silence," the clip shows how Nissan engineers were tasked with minimizing Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) in the all-new Titan XD.

As part of the process, engineers and technicians used dozens of microphones and sound testing equipment to look for ways to keep the truck as quiet as possible.  Employees also had to ensure the truck's 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbodiesel engine had a pleasing sound but didn't intrude into the cabin too much.

As Nissan's John DeYoung explained "People use the truck to go camping on the weekend, to go to dinner with their families, and they use it as their work vehicle. So it's important for the truck to be functional, but just as important to be able to take phone calls and be able to work and live in the truck. Quietness is a key selling point for a lot of people for full-sized trucks now."
