A mule for the next-generation Honda Civic Type R has been spied undergoing in Europe.

While the production model will look nothing like this prototype, it features an Acura-sourced front fascia, Brembo brakes and lightweight wheels.  We can also see a wider track and a three-tailpipe exhaust system.

Little else is known about the car but the next-generation Civic will be a global model that will be sold in both Europe and the United States.  It could be equipped with the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine - that develops 310 PS (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque - as today's model but nothing is official as of yet.
