Renault is still in the early development phases of the second generation Koleos, as a prototype of the model has been spied wearing a heavy camouflage in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Nissan X-Trail-based vehicle once again shows its Talisman-inspired front end with similar shaped LED daytime running lights, grille and headlights. At the back there’s a set of stylish LED taillights, while overall shape of the SUV is still hidden underneath heavy disguise.

Significantly bigger than the Renault Kadjar, the car will offer room for up to seven passengers in a 2+3+2 seat configuration. The engine range will likely echo the motors of the X-Trail, which means a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 163 PS (120 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 1.6-liter diesel with 130 PS (95 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque will be available. Chances are the French company could also offer the range-topping diesel 1.6 biturbo unit with 160 PS.
