If you're dying to get your hands on the 2017 Ford GT and your name isn't Jay Leno, it looks like you might have to jump through a number of hoops.

According to a Redditor who claims to work at a Ford dealership, the automaker will introduce a unique ordering process for the highly-anticipated supercar early next year.

While nothing is official, customers will reportedly have to "apply" for the opportunity to purchase the car.  Everyone is welcome to apply but priority will be given to loyal Ford customers especially to those who already own the previous-generation GT.  Those who are approved would then be invited to complete their purchase at a Ford GT certified dealership.

Despite sounding like a hassle, the process appears to have good intentions as its aim is to put cars in the hands of people who really want one instead of speculators who would buy the car only to flip it for a profit.
