The 2016 Hyundai Avante / Elantra has been spied undisguised on the factory floor.

Set to be unveiled shortly, the redesigned sedan has a bold new face with an Audi-like grille that is flanked by boomerang shaped air intakes and stylish new headlights.  Moving further back, we can see prominent character lines and a fairly conservative rear end with LED taillights.

The interior eschews the soft curves of its predecessor for a more utilitarian look which is a tad dull.  Criticisms aside, the cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel, an infotainment system and gloss black / metallic trim.

Hyundai hasn't had much to say about performance specifications but the model is expected to be offered with a variety of engines including a 1.6-liter T-GDi unit that develops approximately 175 bhp (130 kW).
