Andy Palmer, Aston's CEO, has expressed his thoughts on the Ludicrous mode, recently introduced for the Tesla Model S.

It was last week when the British manufacturer announced plans to launch an all-electric vehicle with 800 bhp (597 kW) and now the company’s boss Andy Palmer was quoted as saying the Tesla's Ludicrous Mode was “stupid.”

“We don’t do Ludicrous because Ludicrous speed is stupid,” he commented to Automotive News. “I think that the fact that you could drive a few laps of a decent race course or race it around the Nordschleife is much more interesting than doing 500 meters in Ludicrous mode.”

Palmer also used his Twitter channel to disclose Aston Martin’s “preposterous mode (beyond insane)” comes “as standard”, “no button recquired.”
