Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has reportedly announced plans to introduce a new hypercar at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has reportedly announced plans to introduce a new hypercar at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

According to Road & Track, the model was announced last night and will be shown to prospective buyers via some sort of "hologram animation" at Pebble Beach later today.

Little is known about the car but previous reports have suggested it will be based on the Aventador Superveloce and feature an upgraded engine that produces approximately 800 bhp (596 kW).  One source also told the magazine the car could be hybridized but nothing is official as of yet.

If the rumors pan out, the car will carry a seven figure price tag and production will be limited to 30 units - 20 coupes and 10 roadsters.
