Our spies recently snapped photos of the seven-seat Lexus RX and it now appears the model will be announced shortly.

In an interview with Wards Auto, Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Jeff Bracken said the company "could make an announcement pretty soon."  The executive went on to say dealers have been clamoring for the model and noted the seven passenger crossover segment is a "significant market" that Lexus isn't competing in.

While Bracken declined to confirmed the model is coming, previous spy photos have shown the seven-seat variant will look virtually identical to the standard model but be several inches longer.

Engine options are expected to carryover and include a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 bhp (224 kW) and a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 that develops approximately 300 bhp (224 kW).
